Fiorentini & Baker boots- Sz 8/8.5

I bought these boots last year from Barneys.com. They cost over $500. They arrived and felt a little big (I am size 7/7.5), but I thought hey, that's ok! I live in a cold climate! I can wear thick socks and furry insoles and they will be perfect! So, in anticipation of the ice-encrusted sidewalks and my toasty wool-ensconced feet, I brought them to a cobbler and paid to have rubber protective soles attached to the heels and leather soles of the boots.

Oh the shame.... $600 later and I NEVER WORE THEM. Even with in-soles and socks, they were still too big. I have to come to terms with the fact that they are a full size too big for me.

SIZE: The Italian size is 37, but these boots will fit a US size 8/8.5. If this helps, the sole of my foot, standing on a tape measure (in other words, when foot is flat on floor and therefore at its full, eh, "expansion"), is around 9.5 inches long. If your foot is longer than that, if you take a size 8/8.5, these boots will fit.

COLOR: The color of the boots in the photographs is accurate. They are a slate gray/blue suede.

HEIGHT: The heel is 1.25 inches. From the bottom of the heel to the top of the boot is 16 inches. They have a slouchy look when worn and hit below the knee. Perfect.

QUALITY: F&B boots are handmade in Italy and are super sturdy.

PRICE: Well, I have only myself to blame for blowing $600 on these, but I would be really happy to get $100 for them. If these fit you, this is a good deal.

SHIPPING: $15 for US shipping. They will come in their original box.

SALE ENDS 10/20/10

Gorgeous boot! What is the circumference of the top of the boot shaft -and- is there a zipper or are they pull-ons?

These boots are absolutely gorgeous. I'm sorry they didn't work out for you. I can only imagine how frustrating it must have been. However, they are my size, and I would love to give them a new home.

Thanks so much,
Sarah

abby neal-- The circumference at the top of the boot seems to be around 15 inches.
They are pull-on. In the pic, you can see that they have little cotton pull tabs on the inside. (These are soft and won't scratch or pull tights.)
