Marc Jacobs Elaborate "Bustle" Tie Skirt size 4
Hi all,
This is a Marc Jacobs silk/cotton skirt that you can really play with in many ways. I bought it at the Marc Jacobs boutique on Greene Street thinking that I would get more wear out of it than I have. It's made of a silver cotton/silk fabric with a matte sheen (can't remember the name for this kind of fabric) and it ties through an elaborate set of loops to create the unexpected fishtail bustle in the back.
Other details:
-full lined/full slip in muslin
-two hidden slit pockets in front
-labeled size 4 but because of tie-waist design, can accommodate from 24"-28" waist (my dress form is a 26" waist, which is the ideal size)
-would fit up to 36" hip measurement
-skirt length in front 25", 25.5" in back
Styling notes: I dressed my form in a short sleeve button up shirt, but I would wear it next summer with a super baggy Alexander Wang racer-back tank -- a white one or a striped one -- for a gamine look. Wearing it this winter with a boat neck marine sweater (like the one nevermind posted today) would be really cute, too.
I don't feel any particular need to sell this, but I thought I would post it in case someone has been looking for something like this. I'll take trades for this, too.
Made in the US.
Condition: perfect condition. I've worn it twice, exactly -- once to dinner, once to an afternoon reception. I'll press it before sending it out.
Original price: $1100. I paid $450.
Asking: $100 including shipping.
Listing end: December 6, but, very casually, whenever, even if its after December 6. Leave email in comments.
Rare Balenciaga Hi-Tops Mint w/ Box sz 37 7
Hi all,
If I were asked which of the items I'm editing from my closet I recommend the most as my most "special-ist" things, I'd mention these Balenciaga sneakers, the APC tartan cape, the Miu Miu dress shirt I just listed, and a Development by Philip Lim moleskin stand-up collar coat (and the APC moleskin jacket that I've decided to keep after trying it on again) that I listed but will relist with images in which the coat is being worn so you see how it fits and drape.
Apologies in advance for any future amateurish "modeling."
I have been, basically, forever, living with the hope (or illusion) that I should be wearing hi-top sneakers. I have looked everywhere, tried everything, etc. In short, I have been desperate to join the ranks of people who look cool in hi-tops.
I have now come to the conclusion that there is just something wrong with my foot that makes it near impossible to wear hi-tops without my toes cramping up. It's pretty tough to come to terms with, but as a result, I am selling every single pair of unworn hi-tops I own.
This is the best pair of them all: rare Balenciaga hi-tops. So, so sassy and couture at the same time. Today when I was taking pictures for this listing, I realized that the hi-top part of the sneaker is lined in insanely luxurious goat leather -- the same leather used in the Balenciaga bags -- and I almost chickened out.
You can wear the top folded down, too, so that the cream goat leather is showing. Canvas and Suede panels. The top velcros shut. Just an insane amount of details...(the last photo of this season's white Balenciaga hi-tops was included to show that the style is still being produced, with a few adjustments.)
Condition: near mint. I wore these once -- ONCE -- and got a slight scuff on the left heel. You can see this minor scuff in picture three. You could get this very minor scuff cleaned really easily at your cobblers. Condition rating: 9.5/10. Comes with its original box and sleeper bag. These shoes? They just don't show up ever. Anywhere. I'm not sure, even, that they make Balenciaga sneakers for women now.
Size: Women's Italian 37. Fits true to size. US 7
Paid: $380 at Barneys. It's Balenciaga after all. I couldn't resist the idea of having Balenciaga hi-tops!
Asking: $145 + $10 shipping
Listing end: December 6, 2009. Leave email in comments.

First Season Miu Miu Plaid Dress Size 40
Do you remember the first season that Miu Miu appeared? Well, I do. I was so excited about the store opening -- and the fact that a diffusion line for Prada was available, something more affordable. Ok. "Affordable."
Chloe Sevigny, in the Kids-era, and Drew Barrymore were the first to model for the line. I thought that was a brilliant move for Miuccia Prada and added a much needed hipness to the Prada line-up.
I bought this shirt dress at the Miu Miu Prince Street Boutique. I think it was my second Miu Miu purchase, the first being a pair of clunky wooden heels that I think are still very cool (and which I still own) to this very day. I remember paying something like $450 for the dress -- a huge expense then and now.
It's hard to price this dress since you never see them around but I think it will be a collectors item in the future in the way that Karl Lagerfeld's dresses for 70s era Chloe are now collected: a future classic.
Condition: Mint. No rips, stains or tears. Comes with matching belt. Everything is original, down to the buttons. I've never had it altered. Absolutely mint, pre-owned condition.
Size: Italian 40. Miu Miu runs small, so this would easily fit a Italian 38, US size 0-2 or French 34. (I wear a size 38 normally and this fits perfectly.)
Measurements: shoulder 15"
Bust: 34" accommodates A, B or less full C cup (my model form is a 34C and the dress is tight around the chest when worn on the form.)
Waist: 28"
Dress length: 38" -- knee length.
Paid: $450+
Asking: $100 + 6 shipping

SOLD! J Crew Cashmere breton sweater and shorts set
Apologies for the horrendous photos. But just think how pleasantly surprised you will be when you see this cute little outfit in person!
J.Crew 100% cashmere Breton style navy and white sweater with boat-neck. Very warm. No flaws and hardly any pilling. Size small.
J.Crew navy corduroy shorts. 98% cotton, 2 % spandex. "City-fit" (whatever that means?). They are a size 2. I usually like to wear a size 4 in pants and shorts, but this pair looked the way I wanted them to in this size: slouchy and boxy. If you are a size 4 and hesitating over these: don't.
With thick tights and boots, this makes an adorable little winter outfit. I feel like I got good use out of both items and am ready to pass them for somebody else to wear and enjoy.
$20, plus $10 US shipping. First come, first served!
Thanks Lola!

(SOLD Congrats Genevieve) Black Rabbit Fur Poncho (One size fits all)
Fantastic vintage deadstock black rabbit fur poncho!
This is practically new, 100% genuine rabbit fur poncho. Really fun and warm and can be worn in many different ways. (traditionally with pointy ends pointed forwards or the way I am wearing in the mirrored photo- with the straight ends forward).
Don't even know if this has ever been worn. I purchased from high-end vintage store and it still had tags. Introduce some fur into your winter wardrobe, great layering piece or cover-up for a dress. Fur is so warm. This is one size fit all.

Elevenses Crochet Ruffle Top sz 6
Hi all, my mother found out that I'm listing things on this blog (she looks at it!) and asked me to list a couple of things for her -- don't worry, I got my style from her and she's actually a bigger clotheshorse than even I am!
I'll be listing the other items slowly. (There are Diane Von Furstenburg flats, a Miu Miu coat(!), hipster-worthy Bally leather flats...I am really tempted to keep everything for myself, but we're not quite the same size.) I added a photo to show how the top can be worn casually. I am wearing it over a t-shirt and J Brand jeans I got on The General Economy (thanks!)
It's a crochet top with pressed ruffle pleats at the collar and banded waist. It snaps up the front with cloth covered buttons under a covered placket.
It's in perfect condition -- it looks almost new and she keeps everything in plastic bags and dry cleaned in her closets -- and will be pressed before mailing.
Size 6. I'm a size 0 and this doesn't swamp me. I think it would fit a 2-6 fine (my dress form is a 2-4 and the blouse fits with some room in the bust if you don't want to layer the top over anything.)
Measurements:
Bust 40"
Waist 32"
Length 21"
Paid: ??
Asking: $47 including shipping -- a little more to Canada.
Listing end: December 6. Leave email in comments!
j-crew cashmere v-neck
About: I purchased this sweater about a month ago at a Boston consignment shop. It's a nice basic piece, very soft, and in near-new condition (some fuzziness to the cashmere, but no pilling). Unfortunately, it demands a bustier figure than mine. I've worn it only once.
Specs:
100% cashmere sweater
deep v-neck, 3/4 sleeves
Colour: navy
Size small: bust 17.5"; shoulders 15"; sleeve from shoulder to cuff: 17.5"
Paid: $38
Asking: $18 plus shipping from Canada (probably $5-$8, depending where you are)
Listing ends: Dec 6th

[SOLD]Vena Cava Black Silk Top with Triangle Studs Size 10
This a brand new, never-worn Vena Cava top in black. Has adjustable spaghetti straps and metal triangle studs on the front and great black ribbon detail that flatteringly nips in the waist. It's made from 100% silk. Lace top in bronze/black color. Love the designers behind Vena Cava! There pieces are always effortlessly cool.
This is a size 10 but would fit smaller, due to the adjustable straps. I am a size 4 and the blurry photo is of the top on me. Apologies for the poor photos, having some issues with my camera. Get this great designer piece at a fraction of the cost!
Retailed for $280. I purchased on sale 1/2 off (for $140) from Barneys.
Asking: $70+shipping ($12 to Canada, $15 to US).
If interested please leave contact information in contact section.
The first lucky person to claim this piece gets it. Paypal preferred.
[RELIST] Urban Vibe shield pumps, 6.5 (fit 7)
This is a pair of faux leather criss-cross pumps, or cutout booties or shield heels--whatever you wanna call them. They are awesome, and unfortunately too big for me. I have worn them out twice with gel insoles, yet they are still too loose :( The faux leather has a cool texture, gives it the edgy, weathered look. Rock them with dark skinnies, leggings, dresses, etc!
Size: 6.5, but IMO best for a 7 or even 7.5
Condition: almost new, worn out twice each time for less than 3 hours.
Material: man-made leather
Heels: approx. 4"
Asking: $24 - includes shipping within the US
Listing ends December 8
Vintage Floral Red Pink Green Pleated Skirt Waist Size 13.5"
This is a lovely floral vintage pleated skirt. The material is semi-sheer, really pretty, just a little small for me in the waist.
I tried to capture the detail in the photos, however it's a little hard to tell. Small pintucked pleats and pretty floral pattern. In good vintage condition.
Waist is 13.5" (measured from the front).
Falls below the knee (I'm 5' 7'')
Asking: $25 including shipping to Canada ($30 to US).
If interested please leave contact info in comments section. Paypal preferred.
First person to claim this gets it. Thanks!

Sale - Morelle Morchella Bag
first three photos from original listing on Etsy
I bought this lovely bag from the Etsy shop Morelle a few months ago (I'm a big fan of green!), but I haven't used it because realized I really need much larger bags to carry the amount of stuff I do around. I'm amazed by the handicraft of the seller, because it's so well made (it's details are fantastic!). And it has an adorable bow on the outside! From the original listing on Etsy (the link is below): "This Morchella is made out of forest green leather. The leather is a type of leather called 'Corrected grain leather' which is leather that has been sanded and treated extensively to remove any imperfections. The result is a very fine, durable, stain or scratch free leather. It is lined with resistant creme cotton. Ruffled on the top and bottom, one comfy strap, zippered closure, internal zippered pocket and cell phone pocket." So sweet and beautiful...

10.6" /27 cm in height
16" /41 cm across the bottom (may vary an inch or two from bag to bag because of the pleats)
