APC Knee-High Boots in "Greased Leather" Autumn 2009 Sz 37

Hi all,

I'm listing these APC knee-high boots here in the case someone wants them before putting them on eBay. Everyone here is just so much more nice -- editing my closet via The General Economy is a pleasure, not alienating, etc.

I've been in pretty deep denial about these boots for a while. They are too big for me, but I've been telling myself that maybe I'll gain weight, my feet will get bigger -- whatever I need to tell myself. Bottom line, they run a half size large, and I wore them so I was not able to return them.I wore these for a week last April before I realized that so much slipping and sliding around in my shoes was not comfortable. But I really love the shape of the shaft -- square and boxy. My preferred shape. I really, really wish they'd fit. If I had a cobbler that I really trusted, I'd probably have these taken in...

Here are the details:

Size 37 -- they would best fit someone who wears 37.5 or US 7.5. Or if you are a 37 who has a wider calf, this is a great option.

Measurements: 14.5"
Widest point on calf: 14"
Heel height: 2"
Outer sole measurement: 10 1/4"
Total height of boot: 16 1/4"

Condition: I added a picture of the limited heel wear. No scuff or scratches whatsoever on the boot -- not even at the toe or heel. I will also include the original box and sleeper -- I always store my shoes in their boxes. This is also why I have to list so many things here. Because I don't have enough room to store things in their boxes in my now severely constrained, single shared closet. I would give them a 9/10.

I'll have these polished and buffed before sending them out. You'll think they're new.

Other details: The toe is round. I wear a 37 typically, but a 6.5 US. I have so-called "chicken legs," and needed to wear insoles with these boots, but still the shaft was too wide, even with my pants stuffed in them. If you are 37.5 - perfect. I think these could even fit up to a 38 if you wear 38 in certain schmancy labels like Lanvin, Christian Louboutin, which I think run half a size small. I have a lot of experience with sizing, so feel free to toss any questions my way. I can be especially helpful if you can tell me what size you wear in various labels.

- stacked heel
- I also, as I do all my more expensive boots, added winterized soles to them. This cost $45 -- the cobbler did a great job. They are nary noticeable.

Paid: $680 + $45 for winterizing the boots. (Yeah, yeah. I deserved to have a finger wagged at me.) I added my invoice so that you'd know for certain that I'd paid so much for them (buyers on eBay get so persnickety about this!)

Asking: $410 including shipping. A little more to Canada, a little more to Australia. I would only ask as much as I would pay myself for something, and I think the condition of the boots merits the price.

Listing end: I am leaving on the 1st again for Chicago. I'd like to end the listing by Nov 27 so as to avoid having to schelp the boots half-way across the country in my luggage. If not then, December 8.
