Corey Lynn Calter Brown Satin Waistshirt Jacket
Here is a Corey Lynn Calter jacket in a sumptuous chocolate brown satin. It has a strong 1940s vibe and will look as good for the office--with a pencil skirt--as for going out--with jeans and heels. In either case, it will look especially smashing with a narrow belt around the peplum waist. It's for when you want to look professional and business-y without having to wear a dark blazer. And it's for romantic dates when you want to look both sexy and classy. I love the pleating detail on the sleeves.
I bought this jacket at the Billion Dollar Babes sale in Los Angeles 4 years ago. CLC is a Los Angeles designer, and the stores that carry her--from Barneys and TG-170 to Anthropologie and Nordstrom's--demonstrate her "crossover" appeal. For more information on Corey and her designs, go to her website.
I wore this jacket 2x for business-y occasions--a conference presentation, an interview--and felt pretty, special and polished in it. I no longer wear it because, well, I'm older now and no longer feel I can carry off the girlish look so well. Hope someone else will see the possibilities in it for her own life and everyday special occasions.
Size: 6 (true to size)
Paid (sample sale price): $60-80?
Asking: $25 + shipping
