Dries Van Noten Dress Pants sz 36 (US 2) Vintage

Dries Van Noten Dress Pants sz 36 (US 2) Vintage

Hi all,

It occurs to me as I realize that I will never have occasion to step into a corporate office ever again, that some of you out there are starting jobs for which you have to purchase what will inevitably be an expensive wardrobe.

I am planning to post a number of clothes from my time working at a schmancy management consultancy (I have no idea either) for which I had to wear "business formal" four days of the week.

My parents, relieved that I'd never made that threatened escape to art school, and that I'd "panned out" after all, at least in their eyes, helped me to buy a working wardrobe that was way nicer than anything I'd ever owned. And then, of course, 9 months later, I aborted and headed to graduate school.

This is a long way to tell you that these are Dries Van Noten dress pants, made of a pin striped dark navy, medium weight wool suiting fabric. I bought it at Barneys for something like $450 dollars.

Anyhow, no more rambling. Here are the deets:

Size: French 36 -- which they say converts to a US 4, but trust me, it doesn't. A 36 is really a US 2.

Measurements:

Waist 27"
Rise: 10 3/4", formal dress pants typically have a longer rise than, say, jeans because women are expected to wear clothes that hide the precise shape of the body. Or said my guide handed out by human resources. Since the rise is long, the inseam will be shorter.
Inseam: 29 3/4"
Total length of pant is 39 1/2"

I am certain that I had the hem taken in because they usually sell European luxury RTW off the rack with a very long hem in case one is a supermodel.

Other notes: the color is most accurate in the photo of the pant hanging off the mantel. However, in the sun, the color becomes a lighter blue.

The pant is partially lined. The entire front of the pant is lined -- I suppose this is where one is most prone to itching.

Side welt pockets. The pocket are aligned with the curve of the hip -- a nice design touch.

Once upon a time there was a very, very small hole a centimeter from the leg hem. I patched it up with three stitches. In any case, I doubt anyone will ever see it there, and if you are planning to have the pants taken up, it won't be an issue, period.

Plain back, no pockets in back.
Belt loops.

Made in Belgium

Asking: I am asking for $75 including shipping in the US (more to Canada and elsewhere) because I am going to have them dry-cleaned and pressed and the hems reinforced so you'll be ready to wear them to your fancy office.

Listing ends: Feb 28. Leave your contact information, paypal address and specify if you are in the US or not. Thanks!

I have inexplicably become a lawyer, which apparently requires lots of shmancy clothes, so I would love these.
