What: Up for sale is a pair of well-loved, Swedish Hasbeen boots in the popular Jodhpur style, still in great shape. These are in black leather with natural wood. The heel is approx. 2 1/2 " and the platform is 3/4", making these very comfortable to wear. From the Swedish Hasbeens website:
This chrome-free model is hand-made in the traditional way with genuine natural grained leather and a lime-tree wooden sole. It is 7 cm (2.8 inches) high and really comfortable.Size: These are a size 38. I am usually a 7.5, with normal to slightly wide feet, and these fit perfectly. I did put a cushioned insole in the bottom of the boot for even more padding. A size 8 might be able to wear these as well.
Condition: I have worn these a lot, but take very good care of my shoes and these have tons of wear left in them. They have been regularly cleaned with Lexol and sprayed with stain/water repellent, and were stored in the original box. The leather looks very good and has softened considerably from when they were brand new. The wood soles have some stains and wear (see pics with closeups), and I have oiled the wood regularly as recommended by the company. The wood can be cleaned: "Here is something unique: sandpaper can remove marks and dirt from the wood and you can also use some olive oil on the wood for protection." The rubber on the heel will need replacing soon, and they might need general resoling. According to the website: "The rubber sole is glued on and will loosen by time since wood is a natural living material. It's super-easy to glue it back on or get a new bio-degradable one at your local shoe repair shop."
Price: Currently these retail for about $400. I think I paid $360 when I bought mine. Asking: $150 plus $10 shipping in the U.S.
Listing ends in one week, on October 22nd.
Please ask any questions before bidding, and I'll do my best to answer quickly.
