Posting for Joanne
This jacket is of the highest quality, completely water resistant, and
perfect for in-between seasons. I purchased it less than a year ago
and am selling it because, as much as I love it, I just never wear it
-- I think I've accepted the fact that I'll never pull it off like
Alexa Chung, haha. I've been putting off selling it because I'm
irrationally attached to it but have decided it's wasteful to let it
just sit in my closet.
It's in excellent condition -- I've worn it about 15-20 times, tops.
There are signs of gentle creasing on the heavily-waxed cotton, as
seen in the photo of the back, but it's still nice and crisp and not
quite broken in yet. It's a rich dark green, fully lined, and the
detachable hood is great -- roomy and structured with drawstrings. The
sleeves look cute cuffed to show the tartan. I also have the original
tags and care instruction booklet.
About sizing: I'm a size 0 or XS, and this is a size 4 (UK 34), which
is the smallest size that Barbour makes for their woman's jackets. It
fits me quite well in a cute, slightly oversized way, and I think
anyone from a size 0-4 could wear it well. I actually originally
bought the unisex Bedale jacket in a size 0 (UK 30), and although it
was much slimmer in the sides, the shoulders and arms were just
comically huge on me. My boyfriend said I looked like a linebacker. In
the end I returned that one and opted for the Beadnell, which I found
to be much more flattering because it's cut for a woman. The person I
talked to at the Barbour store said it's basically the woman's version
of the men's classic Beaufort.
