lyell peacoat in aubergine, size 6
i've been holding on to this peacoat for a while now, unwilling to part with it because it was one of my first lyell pieces. plus, the fit and cut of emma fletcher's outerwear was by far the best thing about her line. sadly, the shoulders--which were always a little tight--are now so narrow post-baby that i can't even wear a thin sweater with it. and this is an ongoing problem with me, but the fabric is a cat-hair magnet.
size 6 (measurements taken flat on the outside of the coat. the fabric is thick, so keep that in mind)
shoulders: 14 3/4"
pit to pit: 18"
waist: 16 1/2" (taken at pocket-level)
length: 25 1/2"
flaws: the coat is in amazing condition overall. the fabric doesn't pill (there is no fabric content tag), it's fully lined, has two front pockets, epaulets, and a back inverted pleat. the only flaw is the lining, which needs two panels replaced. i've included photos of the lining wear, and as you can see from the photos, the lining is not attached at the hem, so it can easily be lifted, detached, and replaced by a tailor. since i've had terrible luck with alterations in boston/cambridge, i'm going to leave this task to the new owner. i will, however, take it to the dry cleaners before shipping. the coat hasn't been worn in two years.
paid: $290 (originally $550) at lyell
asking: $180 including shipping and delivery conf. ($11.40 with a medium flat rate USPS box).
