Lisa Curran Retro Squares Halter Bikini in Kelly Green

I bought these from Anthropologie last year and never wore them--the top didn't fit right and I missed the window on returning them. The style is "Retro Squares" by swimwear designer Lisa Curran. This halter top ties at the neck and back and is paired with a low, hipster bottom. Both have rectangle square details on the hips, and in the center, on the top. New, never worn--hygiene liners intact. Excuse the blue painters tape; it's next to impossible trying to take pictures of swimsuits!

Fully lined 80% Nylon / 20% Spandex Made in USA Color is a kelly green Size: Large (C/D cup fits best) and size 6/small 8 on bottom fits best. The Lisa Curran sizing chart says a Large fits a size 10 (US) and 30-31 in a jean, but I personally think these are running on the smaller side. The Web site does say that sizing varies by each suit design.

went screwy. I normally wear an 8.5, and at least for ballet flats, a
40 worked fine. For these mary-janes, 40.5 is just too big for my
feet.

Kersh Black Jersey Dress

About the Item: This Tshirt dress is adorable and has excellent drape. I tried to photograph it to show the details (black can be challenging) hence the over-exposed flash shot (photo 1) which, regrettably makes it look flimsy. Is is not. It's pitch black and substantial. It's got a great, deep v-neck with pin-tuck gathers that give it an element of design you don't often see in a T dress.

Why it's time to say goodbye: I bought it for work / play throughout the summer but, alas, it was too large from the get-go, which is why I've worn it exactly once. Hmmm, I'm starting to notice a trend with the items I've been posting on this site...

Banana Republic Necklace

About the Item: I bought this necklace at Banana Republic about 3 years ago. BR is my secret go-to place for costume jewelry because it's very chic, very durable and very well-priced. It also stocks pieces that you won't see coming and going, despite the fact you might imagine you would. I love the asymmetric placing of the beads, the almost luminous quality of them. I also love how they're strung to a leather piece which holds a very fun, and secure, t-clasp at the neck.

Why it's time to say goodbye: My jewelry box, like my closet, is rather overwhelmed right now. I'd like to make some space for new purchases. And while I love the colour and fit of this necklace, it's just not one I've ever managed to put into high rotation.

United Colors of Benetton Jersey Dress

It doesn't look fitted in the photo but the waist is true and it gives nice shape.

About the item: This easy-to-wear, plum-coloured jersey dress was bought on sale at Sisley (sister to Benetton) though the label indicates it is Benetton brand. I was drawn in by its excellent shade (flattering on anyone) and its lovely kick pleat / bust detailing. It's perfect for work or play - comfortable to move in, yet chic.

Why I'm willing to say goodbye: It's never fit quite right in the shoulders for me. I have a very narrow frame with boobs and the fabric isn't clinging quite the way I'd like it to. Perhaps I should have got a small (but there wasn't one). I could have it tailored but, truthfully, I've worn it twice and, given all my other clothes, it just hasn't happened.

M0851 Ecru Skirt

About the Item: This, just-above-the-knee ecru / bone-coloured skirt is insanely cool and terrifically constructed. The fabric is matte parachute with beautiful stitching and a great fluted A-line shape. The waist is fabric covered and elastic but does not look "elasticized". The piece can fit on the waist or hips. Netted lining is yet another facet of its beautiful construction.

I really love it and have enjoyed it tremendously.

Why I'm willing to say goodbye: Oh, this is tough. I guess because it really doesn't fit that well anymore. I bought it at a time when I was more of a medium fit and now I'm more of a small fit. Also, I've worn it happily many times and it's time to give it to a new person who will be as blown away by it as I was when I first bought it.

I've worn a bulky sweater over it, turtlenecks underneath, silk tanks--it's so versatile. And can fit a wide array of sizes. Sleeves are split, and also at the sides. 100% silk.
