Black knit-silk shirt, XS/S

Posting for Katie

Black knit-silk shirt with three-quarter sleeves, purchased directly from the design studio in India where it was made. This shirt is unmarked with a size, but I would call it an XS/S. It has not been worn more than once several months ago, but I have several other shirts from this company in this knit/material, and the delicious thing about these items is the way the fibers stretch and conform to the shape of the wearer. Once worn a few times, this item will be a solid size small. The color of the shirt is more of a charcoal black than a "true" black. Another excellent fact about this item is that it is hand-knit by village women in southern India, who have been taught the skill by the design team. These women come from a small village where they lack the status that males do; these jobs are extremely empowering for them, and the women work in a relaxed environment where they are treated as integral parts of the team. The dyes used on this item are vegetable-based, and the silk is sourced from the most ethical producer available. I say all this to say that you should feel great wearing this shirt, and it comes with lots of good karma!

This item retails for approximately $85.00 US. I am asking $40.00 plus $3.00 shipping in the US, though reasonable offers are welcome. Please email katie at katiekentuckychambers@gmail.com with questions.

Listing ends a week from posting date.
