i'm not Angela, but I really hope you get to the bottom of this. This person hasn't gotten back to you in over two weeks?! That is just not right. I hope/think Paypal is able to help you if this person is a fraud.
ReplyDeleteContact PayPal or the credit card you use with PayPal & fill a stop payment re. this. Good luck, what a pain in the arse.
ReplyDeleteopen a case on paypal! you have a 45 day limit where you can do this and make sure you dont miss this timeframe
ReplyDeleteI would dispute it on your credit card first, then dispute it on PayPal as well. Credit card companies are great about taking charges off immediately if you file a complaint. But do it quickly!
ReplyDelete@all: Thank you so much for the advice and support. In all the years I've been on LoGE, *never* has this happened. Please be careful out there--it's just too easy to get swindled online. LoGE is such a fantastic community, it sucks people are taking advantage of that goodness.
ReplyDeleteI am wondering... is there a way to start a list of some sort for participants who were dishonest? It sucks that something like this happened. It is definitely a rare occurrence in my experience, but a sucky one when it does happen. Good luck!
